'perfect is a colonial construct'

This hand painted upcycled hoodie not only looks proppa deadly it represents me pushing back on what is 'perfect'.

As a black woman, I have had to be perfect and still this is not good enough for the colony. Striving for perfectionism has beaten my mind and body.

So these pieces are part of ongoing work where there are no 'perfect' lines, circles or lettering, there are missing parts in designs. The pieces tell a story of nature, of who I want to be more, impulsive, creative, random, eclectic.

Each piece is unique and cannot be replicated and I love that too.
